New services BDM at Westcon Group

Cleopatra Gwena has been appointed by Westcon Group Southern Africa as its new services business development manager within its services solutions team.

Hanle Carver (services director at Westcon Services) welcomed Cleo to the team by saying that “she brings with her substantial services experience, in particular her extensive Cisco knowledge and will be a fantastic asset. Cleo will assume the responsibilities of managing all vendor-attached services including Cisco Services as well as driving our Westcon SLA/backup stock business”.

Cleo has previously held three positions at Cisco Systems as senior internal sales account manager, commercial sector Cisco, services account manager, public sector Cisco and partner services development manager of channel/distribution, Cisco. Her wealth of experience with Cisco products and customer service mean that she is capable of developing accounts and over-seeing all aspects of the deals she makes.

With regards to managing Channel services, Cleo has focused primarily on partner operations management, growing and maintaining the services business in the distribution and partner sectors across all sectors and ensuring that both channels meet and grow their services businesses as set out by Cisco.

Carver concluded by stating that Cleo is no stranger to the Channel and that “her management and client interaction skills will serve her well in her new position, her knowledge of Cisco is an added bonus. I look forward to seeing her grow her expertise and that of the services client portfolio”.
